Collectively, we can work in unison to alleviate the senseless suffering of orphans and vulnerable children, as well as the plight of the marginalized and underserved.

| FUNDRAISE! |
|
|
Hosting a fundraising event to benefit ALIF is a great and easy way to raise money for orphans and vulnerable children. Such initiatives can be facilitated at your university and college, community center, through potluck dinners and/or a movie night with house guest, and various other mediums and venues where people congregate.
For instance invite 20 or more friends to get together for an event to benefit ALIF (at a coffeehouse, open mic event, for a movie or dinner) and have Nasir present on ALIF's work with orphans and vulnerable children. Afterwards participants and/or house guests are asked to contribute to support ALIF's initiatives in Ethiopia. |

The Hiwot (Life) Campaign: ALIF provides scholarships (conditional cash transfers) to orphans and vulnerable children who can not afford to attend and/or are at-risk of dropping out. Through your fundraising campaign you can choose to raise the funds needed to secure a scholarship for one or more destitute children. The cost for one scholarship is approximately $240 per year.
The "Awakening" Documentary: In an effort to provide the international community with an intimate understanding of the plight of orphans and vulnerable children and commercial sex workers, ALIF is developing a documentary entitled "Awakening". Through your fundraising efforts you can choose to raise funds for the production and advertisement of this awareness raising film, and/or assist with securing screenings of "Awakening" at your University or community center.

| ESTABLISH OR JOIN AN ALIF CHAPTER |
|
|
| A great way to affect change in the lives of the destitute and underserved is to start an ALIF Chapter at your school, college or university. These Chapters can be individual ALIF Chapters and/or partnerships with existing student groups or associations, as well as your place of worship. ALIF Chapters provide a gratifying and invaluable opportunity for students and young professionals to become immersed in international social issues, while developing the leadership skills and confidence to become pioneers of change!
